IzG is a sister organisation of the KVIV federation of Flemish engineers and defends analogue interests.
IzG endorses the Ethical Charter of Engineers.
IzG organises the transfer of know-how of engineering sciences to communities in distress.
Various branches of the applied sciences can provide solutions in order to satisfy needs for drinking water, for food, for housing, for energy, or for infrastructure needed for education and care.
The goal of our organisation is to offer our knowledge in engineering sciences for the basic needs of communities in distress.
IzG achieves this by delivering technical expertise, feasibility studies or scientific assistance in short-term projects which respond to specific questions of the local population, this in combination with local organisations.
This contribution is free; our staff members are volunteers, preferably members of the KVIV engineers’ association.
The projects are free from political or religious considerations and are not linked to competition between professional organisations, nor to commercial profits or to advertising.
IzG is concerned that projects comply with the local traditions, culture and customs.
Development cooperation means for us cooperating with the local population.
The development of durable solutions in own hands, implemented by own means must be promoted, this takes priority over efficiency.
