1) Humanitarian character
The requested service must respond to a basic need of the local population or must enhance their development.
2) Engineering
The service provided lies in the area of applied science in its broad sense. In principle, no physical or financial aid is provided. Next to providing studies or education, assistance can be given for installation, repair or adaptation of technical equipment.
3) Object
The project must respond to a specific, concrete question of the local community.
4) Feasibility
Adequate means must be available to realize the project, technically and economically.
5) Durability
- The project must guarantee sufficient long term prospects.
- Cooperation with a local partner or a local structured group enhances this guarantee, thus it is explicitly demanded.
6) Ecology
Preference is given to projects offering ecological solutions.
7) Involvement of K VIV-IzG-members
- Our services must enhance the involvement of the members. Their contribution is one of their own free will, only costs are reimbursed.
- If necessary an appeal to competences of third parties may be considered.
8) Involvement of the beneficiary community
-Actual contributions of the beneficiary community themselves are considered a plus.
- The local organisation takes care of welcoming the mission, its lodging, its daily needs and its local transportation.
9) Cooperation
- Cooperating with third parties, or participating into a third party project, may be considered if it creates an added value for the project resulting from the synergy or the scale effect.
- The project should not compete with other aid programs or activities of commercial groups.
10) Safety
During the project, at all times, the mission must be able to operate in safe circumstances.
